We've been getting a lot of questions regarding which campsites are open right now, where is primitive or dispersed camping allowed and which campsites we recommend for short family get-aways. So here is what we know as of today:
Burnt Rancheria, Laguna Mountain: Open Now. https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/232278
Dogwood Family Campground, Lake Arrowhead: Open May 22nd https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/sbnf/recarea/?recid=26235
Oak Grove, Cleveland National Forest: Open Now https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/234736

2. Dispersed and Primitive Campsites:
a. There are a number opening up. We are in the process of verifying which ones are open now and are sending our customers to these over the coming week.
3. Private Campgrounds:
a. Ecoshire, Hemet: Open Now https://ecoshiresage.com/camping
b. High Desert Lookout, Temecula: Open Now (good for families) https://www.hipcamp.com/california/bierbaum-pepper-farm/high-desert-look-out-baby-goats
We are actively calling organizations like the National Forest Service, State Parks and private campgrounds. Our goal is to get anyone who wants to go camping, out into the wilderness asap. Better still, we want to send our customers to the hidden and unknown locations, which are quieter, more beautiful and quite often - FREE!
